Discussion between Design team and Sam. Agreed that the game should take place in first person as it helps invoke the following feelings in the player:

1. A small person in a vast world to explore. This perspective will make the world seem larger with more areas to explore.
2. The Jellies are reacting to you. Instead of the jellies interacting with “your character” the first person perspective will get you up close to the jellies.

However, there is utility in utilizing 3rd person perspective. This will be useful for showing the cute and wholesome interactions with players. Therefore the decision was to have a drone type device that will allow players to view in third person for pictures, this would be a great help with marketing, especially if players share their pictures on social media. This would have to be restricted so players do not use it to explore the world rather than going on adventures.Ultimately, the third-person perspective should be disabled or otherwise ignored for now. The team should continue development with only the first-person perspective in mind, and at a later date, a third-person perspective will be reintroduced.

TL;DR: third-person is canned for now. It will be brought back once there are features that need it/better justify having it.
